Mary Colegrove

A.R.A.D. Adv.

Mary trained at The Oxford School of Ballet (formerly the Ryder-Christian School) before going to The Arts Educational School, London, where she gained all her dancing and teaching qualifications.

While still training, she danced before Dame Margot Fonteyn in exhibition work for The Royal Academy of Dance, and worked with The London Festival Ballet at The Festival Hall. This was followed by engagements in Europe, including seasons with the German Pfalztheater Ballet, and Munich Television Ballet companies.

She took over the Oxford School of Ballet in 1978 and ran it for an incredible 43 years, as well as being an Examiner for The Royal Academy of Dance in 1981.

Mary is semi-retired and teaches our Wednesday lessons in Oxford, as well as exam coaching and assistance.
