Teacher of RAD Ballet - September or January start
Job Description
The Oxford School of Ballet Ltd is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our teaching team for the Autumn Term starting in September 2023, or Spring Term commencing January 2024. Due to the School’s success and expansion, we have available positions on Monday or Tuesday in Oxford, that would be excellent for an experienced teacher looking for part time work. The work would be teaching RAD syllabus classes, beginner pointe work and adult ballet, and is suitable for one candidate or can be divided by multiple applicants.
Each term comprises of 11 weeks of lessons with a one week half term holiday. Candidates may apply for all the following classes or a certain day.
Classes
Monday 4-8pm Oxford, Woodstock Road
RAD Grade 4
Beginner Pointe Work for Grade 4/5 level pupils (free work)
RAD Grade 7
Beginner Adult Ballet (free work)
Tuesday 4pm-8pm Oxford, Woodstock Road
RAD Primary
RAD Grade 1
RAD Grade 5
Experienced Adult ballet (Inter level) - free work
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Act as an ambassador for The Oxford School of Ballet Ltd and promote its vision and standards for dance.
To plan, prepare and teach the agreed lessons and keep accurate registers of attendance.
To oversee ballet attendees including pupils, parents, assistants, pianists, and to monitor venue security, setup and close.
To safeguard the teaching and learning environment for teachers and attendees.
To report any concerns (urgent or non-urgent) to the School Principal immediately.
To keep teaching qualifications and supplementary qualifications up to date as requested/provided by the Principal (First Aid, DBS, Child Protection and Safeguarding etc.)
Adhere to School Policies on Safeguarding, Data Protection, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, and the Staff Code of Conduct.
To meet with the Principal, on occasion, at a time that is mutually convenient.
To generate fun and inspiring classes, that spread the joy of dance to all participants!
Requirements
A dance teaching qualification (or be working towards one) with the Royal Academy of Dance or any equivalent dance society e.g. ISTD, BBO, BTDA
A full enhanced DBS, or be willing to be put through one.
A full, clean UK drivers’ licence and own transport.
1 year teaching experience (preferable).
Speaker and device for class music.
Job Type: Freelance
Salary: £30.00 per hour
